
Captain Jamonicus T. White Sr. is a veteran law enforcement executive with nearly three decades of military and civilian public safety experience. A lifelong resident of Norfolk, Virginia, he has dedicated his career to public service, leadership, and strengthening the community he calls home.
Captain White currently serves with the Norfolk Police Department, where he has risen through the ranks from Police Officer to Investigator, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain. His career has spanned patrol, criminal investigations, specialized enforcement, and executive leadership. As a Captain, he has led divisions of approximately 160 sworn and civilian personnel, overseeing strategic operations, personnel management, crime-reduction efforts, and community engagement.
Throughout his career, Captain White has worked to build strong partnerships among law enforcement, government agencies, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders. He has served as an instructor and speaker on leadership, public safety, and policing issues.
Prior to joining the Norfolk Police Department, Captain White served in the United States Air Force. He holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice/Public Administration from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University.
A husband and proud father of three, Captain White’s commitment to service extends beyond his profession. As newly elected Vice President, he brings extensive leadership experience, a collaborative approach, and a longstanding commitment to mentorship, service, and community principles that have guided him throughout his career and will continue to shape his leadership in this new role.
